We are two women peace activists — Dina Awwad-Srour and Emma Sham-Ba Ayalon, a Palestinian and an Israeli.

Etty Hillesum was a young Dutch Jewish woman who, despite being murdered in Auschwitz in 1943, chose love over hatred until the very end. We believe that Etty Hillesum's words carry the wisdom of deep humanism that the world needs now so urgently.

Our work began in 2008, when we first printed Etty's quotes on a home printer for our annual alternative Holocaust Memorial ceremony. Today the cards are in their sixth edition, with thousands of sets in use globally.

We bring Etty Hillesum's words to Palestinian, Israeli, and international communities — to foster deep listening, peacebuilding, and collective healing in conflict zones and beyond.

Online Courses & Community: Since 2019 we have run more than 20 online courses, engaging over 400 participants — activists, facilitators, and spiritual seekers from Israel, Palestine, and around the world. We offer ongoing learning programs for peacebuilders and anyone seeking personal and collective transformation.

The Film: A Dutch TV documentary follows our journey — how Etty's words help us and peace workers everywhere overcome hatred, dehumanisation, and despair. Watch the film here.

Invite Us: We are available for talks, workshops, and dialogues — online via Zoom or in person — in English, Hebrew, or Arabic. To invite us, contact us at ettyhillesumcards@gmail.com

The Cards: "Etty Hillesum Cards" come in a box with a booklet and 100 cards featuring quotes in three languages — English, Hebrew, and Arabic.
